Solar Tribes is set at a pivotal moment for the future of the human race in the 30th Century, after humans have colonised deep into the known universe.

For centuries humans have lived in a Utopia, managed by corporations that have replaced planetary governments. Under the control of corporations, famine and war have become distant history, buried in archives. To Entertain the entirely civilian populations, corporations introduced a dizzying array of adrenalin fuelled races and eXtreme-Sports. Civilians race for speed and endurance on water, land, air, across solar systems and between stars. Those more adventurous engage in planetary X-Sports from Sky-Diving, Base Jumping, Road-Luge to Kite-surfing and Shark-punching.

Without the citizen representation of Governments, Corporations are now trying to exceed their remit, by subjugating and oppressing entire planetary populations. Through changing law, corporations are stripping rights to personal possessions and treat humans as nothing but cells in the star-spanning organisms of self-serving corporations. The Utopia is decaying.

The Solar Tribes, who see the free determination of individuals as the core to human existence, are unwilling to relinquish their rights to the corporations. They are preparing to fight for “The Reclaim” of human dignity. Without any military vehicles or training, they have turned Racers into Pilots, X-Sportsmen into X-Soldiers. Adapting weaponry onto anything that moves, they will fight corporation oppression to the last planet standing.
